About Digital Product Passports

What is a DPP?

A Digital Product Passport is a digital record containing detailed information about a product's composition, origin, repair and disassembly instructions, and end-of-life handling. Required by the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).

Why is it mandatory?

The EU is moving towards a circular economy. DPPs enable transparency, facilitate repair and recycling, and help consumers make informed choices. Products without valid DPPs cannot be sold in the EU market.
